A fairytale...

...too good to be true.

My darling Bella...
As I might have told you all before, my cat Bella has this long story that started about 11 months before we even met. She dealt with her runaway mother giving birth to the entire litter out in the woods, due to an overly crowded (and I mean CROWDED) place with waaaay too many cats, mean people, a shelter called Kattkommando Syd and onwards to my home.

The first time I saw her, she was just this skinny ball of ragged furr and scared eyes, who hissed as soon as she laid eyes on me.
For some reason, I fell in love.
Deeply, madly and instantly.

Three weeks later, she dared come out of her hiding (under my bath tub) and she almost tolerated me (as long as I kept my hands and feet where they weren't visible. I spent a LOT of days sitting perfectly still on the floor with my hands and feet tucked into my clothes, back then...) but it took several weeks more before I could touch her without risk of having my limbs clawed off...

And now?
She's the most secure, cuddly, silky haired, chubby little sweetheart - so sure of her safety that she loves to sleep belly up in the middle of the floor, and she never shows her claws unless... well... someone's deserved it! ;)

I still claim with confidence, that she is the one thing I have succeeded most with, in my life.
To make that scared little cat turn into who she is today - THAT warms my heart!

Almost like "A fairytale, too good to be true!"
(Part of the lyrics from a Swedish song by Lisa Ekdahl.)

I made this LO for OLW but I'm not sure they'll accept is since it's not in English.
We'll see.
:)

Aww, that is so sweet. I still remember vividly the first night I brought home my kitty Toby from the shelter - he ran and hid behind a desk for hours, and it took weeks for him to warm up to us, slooooowly letting his guard down. It does feel very rewarding to know your trust was earned :)
